The International Day of Wetlands

The Convention on Wetlands, of international importance mainly for water birds as settlements signed on 2nd of February, 1971 in Ramsar, Iran, and since then it has been called the Ramsar Convention.

The main purpose of  the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands is the preservation and rational use of wet places as sustainable development around the world. The international day of Wetlands first celebrated in 1997.

By the way, today swamp tourism has a wide prevalence all over the world.

Below is presented the scientific article on artificial lakes of the Arctic Plain as a main nesting for wetland birds.
