250-300 trees have been cut in Narek village of Ararat region

On 25th of April there was an information in press on that 250-300 healthy fruit trees had been cut in Narek village by special electric saws. According to the residents of the village, their mayor did that awful thing by the permission of the head of the region. The area was completely empty, whereas local residents worked around 23 years to cultivate fruit trees.
On the mentioned above issue Civil Voice NGO applied to the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of MNP of RA by the request to carry out checks, to find out the situation and implement preventive measures within its jurisdiction.
In response the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of MNP of RA informed us that the official letter on the issue mentioned above was sent to Artashat department of Ararat region's Police for further processing.
